  1. Open up the iMessage app on your iPhone<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Touch and hold the message bubble you want to edit or unsend <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select \u2018Undo Send\u2019 from the menu that appears or select \u2018Edit\u2019 if you\u2019d like to edit your message instead<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      The unsend and edit iMessage feature is only available on iOS 16 and newer. To check, head to Settings > General<\/strong> and then Software Update<\/strong>. From here you\u2019ll see what iOS you\u2019re iPhone is running on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Press and hold the iMessage you\u2019d like to amend. From this a small menu will appear below the text.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Selecting undo will erase your message allowing you to retype and a new one. Alternatively \u2018Edit\u2019 does what it says on the tin and lets you rewrite a message. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          It\u2019s important to note that the \u2018Undo Send\u2019 feature only works in the first two minutes of the original send. This will delete the message from both your phone and the recipient’s phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          How long do you have to edit an iMessage?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          In terms of editing an iMessage, you have 15 minutes from the time of send. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Will People Know If You\u2019ve Unsent Or Edited An iMessage?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          Yes, you and the recipient will see a small note confirming if a message was unsent or edited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Can non-iPhone users see if a message is edited or Unsent?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          The original message will remain visible, and you’ll be notified that the recipient may still see it. If you edit the message, the recipient will get follow-up notifications: ‘Edited to,’ followed by the updated message in quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
