Snapseed, a popular photo editing and sharing app, comes to Android
Snapseed arrives on Android, brings advanced photo editing features to your fingertips.

Photo editors on mobile devices are nothing new, but very few are as critically acclaimed as Snapseed. In fact, Google liked Snapseed so much that it acquired the developers of the app, Nik Software. It shouldn't come as a big surprise then, that the app is now also available for Android smartphones and tablets. Not only has Snapseed learned a few new tricks in the process, but it has also gone completely free.

At first glance, Snapseed appears like just another clone of Instagram, the omni-present photo-sharing app that needs no introduction. However, Snapseed puts a lot more freedom at your fingertips to edit and enhance your digital creations. With the help of this app, for example, you can adjust the brightness, white balance and contrast of your images by simply sliding your finger across the screen. On top of that, Snapseed also comes with a healthy selection of creative filters and borders that you can adjust according to your liking.

While the freedom to customise and improve your photos is impressive, it's the execution that makes Snapseed really stand out from the crowd. The user interface utilises intuitive, gesture-based controls where you tap, swipe and pinch to apply different visual effects with very little effort. Later, when you're finished, you can easily share your work via Google+ or any other app that you might prefer, including Instagram.

Snapseed seems to hit that elusive sweetspot between functionality and ease of use on mobile devices. While there are, of course, more powerful tools that you can get from desktop apps like Adobe Lightroom, sometimes all you really want is to get results quickly and hassle free. With a solid set of features, an effortless, gesture based UI, and a price that is equal to zero - you really can't go wrong here with Snapseed.

Snapseed performed flawlessly during our testing on the Motorola RAZR i. According to the developers, the app will work on any device running Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or later. Hit the source link below to download the app from Google Play store.
