Google Earth 6.2 is impressive in its comprehensiveness, accuracy and usability of Google maps and its ability to model the world in 3D. Since 2006, Google map had textured 3D buildings in Google Earth, and now it begin adding 3D models to entire metropolitan areas to Google Earth on mobile devices. This is possible thanks to a combination of new imagery rendering techniques and computer vision that automatically create 3D cityscapes, complete with buildings, terrain and even landscaping, from 45-degree aerial imagery.

With the "3D Buildings" layer in Google Earth, anyone can view 3D models of buildings, monuments, fountains, bridges, towers, museums, homes and much more. While you're in Google Earth, click a 3D building to open a balloon with more information about the location.

By the end of the year Google aims to have 3D coverage for metropolitan areas with a combined population of 300 million people.
