Grand Theft Auto: Vice City coming to mobiles on December 6th
New details emerge about the highly anticipated re-release of Vice City on mobile devices.

Grand Theft Auto - Vice City
The 10th Anniversary Edition of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is scheduled for a release on mobile platforms on the 6th of December, Rockstar Games announced.

The news about Rockstar working on The Anniversary Edition of Vice City came in late October, when the developer also said that the 80's inspired crime-drama with open world elements will feature several 'enhancements' that are unique to the mobile platforms.

In comparison to the original console release, The Anniversary Edition will take advantage of the latest mobile hardware to deliver updated character models and lighting effects next to the much sharper graphics on high-resolution displays. Aside from the new and improved shooting mechanics, the game will allow users to tweak their gameplay experience with fully customisable control layouts.

It remains to be seen how well Rockstar is going to tackle the control issues on touchscreen devices - the motorcycles and helicopters in particular weren't exactly the easiest vehicles to handle even in the console versions of Vice City.

Rockstar Games also announced what phones and tablets will run Vice City. The comprehensive list of compatible Android devices includes the long-running classic, the Samsung Galaxy S2, and its record-breaking successor, the Galaxy S3. Considering the massive 5.5-inch screen and monster specs under the hood, the Galaxy Note 2 could very well be our top pick from Samsung's lineup of phones. Owners of the latest and greatest from HTC shouldn't worry either, as both the One X and One S are present on the list of supported models. Sony side of phones is thoroughly represented here, with the sleek and stylish Xperia S and the more affordable Xperia P taking up the rear, while the current flagship, the Xperia T aka 'Bond phone' is leading the pack. With a release date given, all that's left is to hope that there won't be any last moment delays and that, very soon, we'll be able to cause havoc and mayhem on our mobile devices under the most iconic tunes of the 80's.
