The action filled classic from Sega Dreamcast makes its way to mobile devices.

Jet Set Radio

Jet Set Radio, a critically acclaimed Sega cult classic that was notable for its graphics and music filled gameplay, has now hit Google's Play store for £2.99. You play as a member of a skater gang tasked to take over urban areas by marking them with graffiti all the while performing various stunts. Your skate park is Tokyo, a bustling city where you're pitted against not only rival gang members but also the police.

Jet Set Radio was in a unique position when it first launched on Sega Dreamcast around 12 years ago. It was among the first games to boast cel-shading technology that gave Jet Set Radio a distinct look of an animated cartoon. The licensed tracks that matched the energetic gameplay also received high marks from gamers and critics alike.

For the re-release on mobile devices, Sega has updated the game with high-resolution graphics and touch-optimised controls. To apply graffiti, for example, you now only need to swipe at the screen, and you can even spray your own photos in the game by taking pictures with your smartphone's camera.

Whether or not you have fond memories about playing the original title on the Dreamcast, this port of Jet Set Radio is well worth the look, particularly if you're itching to try something new and drastically different on your mobile device.
