Google's New App Turns Phones Into Child Friendly Devices

Google's New App Turns Phones Into Child Friendly Devices
Google have released a new app called  Family Link which allows parents to give their kids old tablets and phones while keeping control of the device.

When it comes to tech kids certainly seem to be smarter than the grown ups, so Google have stepped in to help put the power back in our hands. Google have released a new app called Family Link which allows parents to give their kids old tablets and phones while keeping control of the device. You'll be safe in the knowledge that they won't be downloading from the play store, or finding dubious content online. Google is going after the child friendly Amazon fire tablet market, but rather than have to buy a whole new tablet, it's a much cheaper way to get the same result.
Family Link allows parents to block & approve app downloads from the play store, along with setting time limits and sleep times - so no risk that the kids will run riot online with no limits. Parents get to see stats on how much time kids are spending using the phone or tablet, as well as what apps they are using the most.

Up until now Family Link has been invite only, but Google have now opened it up to everyone. Family link will work on any android device running Nougat or higher, or an iPhone running iOS9+. We'll be keeping an eye on this, we're sure google will be adding more features over the next few months.
