Top auto brands to use Nokia's mapping solution
Nokia has announced that it will provide its mapping content to future vehicles of well-known automotive brands BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Hyundai. This means drivers will be able to enjoy free voice guided navigation and detailed maps like on Windows Phone Lumia smartphones.

During the Paris Auto Show, the Finnish phone manufacturer also revealed that the nav system manufacturer Garmin and in-car entertainment specialist Pioneer will be using Nokia’s mapping platform for new features such as pedestrian guidance and live traffic updates.

According to Bruno Bourguet, Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Nokia Location & Commerce: ''Drivers today expect to be told the best way to get from A to B but they also want live traffic information, notifications of nearby places of interest and data that helps them drive better and make journeys a pleasure rather than a chore. Whether it is a daily commute or a long distance drive, we are delivering on our Connected Car vision to bring a full set of capabilities from navigation to safety to entertainment."

Nokia's Location & Commerce business already serves Ford and Hyndai with its mapping solutions, and this latest development should help Nokia further strengthen its position in the automotive industry.
