If you are looking for something sleek and high-end, then this particular Samsung phone could be the perfect handset for you. The Infinity-O display provides a large, immersive screen that feels premium from the moment you pick it up. The front-facing camera is hidden in the smallest of housings, with no bulky notch in sight. The front screen and rear panel are made of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and held together with an aluminium frame. The phone also offers an IP68 rating, meaning it’s dust and water-resistant up to 1.5m for 30 minutes.

Size is an essential factor when it comes to choosing a handset, and user preference is still leaning towards larger screens. Measuring 6.2 inches, this device is brilliant for activities like streaming movies and playing games. It features a Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and has a screen-to-body ratio of 90.7%, proving that not a millimetre is wasted space. There are 1440 x 3200 pixels, a PPI density of 563 and an aspect ratio of 20:9, making this a truly high-performing phone.

Turn the handset over and you will see that the back has simple and discreet Samsung branding across the width. In the top left-hand corner, you will find the rear-facing camera housing which has been encapsulated in a wide rectangle. Inside of this, we see three lenses sitting vertically and the LED flash neatly over to one side.

We know that Samsung always does well with audio quality, and this phone is no exception. It provides a really good set of stereo speakers, which make listening without headphones a delight. There is a 32-bit/384kHz audio, tuned by AKG, which is pretty impressive. 

For the first time on the Galaxy S series, they have removed the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, they are gently nudging customers towards their wireless earbuds. However, you can also adapt the charging port if you do prefer wired headphones.

On the front, there is one 10 MP single lens with Fast AF, for crystal-clear selfies every single time. Meanwhile, multiple lenses on the rear camera are now fairly standard, but this handset still provides a seriously heavyweight offering that gives you the ability to take pro-level shots on your smartphone.

The rear camera lenses are made up of a 12 MP ultra-wide, a 12 MP wide-angle and a 64 MP telephoto. You also receive 3x hybrid optical zoom and night mode, as well as other handy features like an LED flash, auto-HDR and panorama. There’s certainly a pro video mode too, with 8k video resolution and Super Steady video.

A handset like this needs a solid chipset under the hood, and you will not be disappointed. Featuring the Octa-core processor, you have a phone that can cope with all of the rigours of a busy life, running with ease and, most importantly, with speed. As you would expect, it runs the latest version of Android 10.0, which is complemented by the One UI 2 skin.

The device offers 128GB with 8GB of RAM, so storage is unlikely to be an issue. However, if you do find yourself needing more, there is a shared slot microSDXC, which means you can expand to your heart's content.

It has a well-sized 4000mAh battery and boasts super-fast charging. It can be charged via the cable or by using a wireless charger which can be purchased separately. If you want to use the button method, all you have to do is press the lock button and the volume button at the same time. If you want to use the palm swipe, you first need to activate this in your settings. Then, all you have to do is wave your hand across the screen and the display will flash to show a screenshot has been taken.
