From the new iPhone release and its headline features to the latest upgrades, we’re breaking down everything Apple has announced. Here’s everything you need to know about the new iPhone, including features, price, release date, availability and more.
iPhone 18 Pro
Apple’s live event on 9th September 2026 opened with the introduction of the new iPhone 18 Pro. Building on the technology found in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple’s latest Pro model focuses heavily on photography, artificial intelligence, performance and everyday usability.
Among the biggest additions, are an upgraded camera system, new photography tools, improvements to Siri and Apple Intelligence, and a more powerful processor designed to handle demanding tasks.

iPhone 18 Pro Design
At first glance, the iPhone 18 Pro retains much of the familiar design language introduced with the previous generation. Apple has, however, introduced a selection of new finishes and made further improvements to the phone’s construction.
The new colour lineup includes Burgundy, Glacier, Silver and Black, giving the Pro range a fresh appearance while maintaining Apple’s premium aesthetic.
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, making it a practical size for everyday use, entertainment and productivity. Its construction combines a durable aluminium unibody with a Ceramic Shield back and the new Ceramic Shield 2 front. The latest front glass offers up to three times better scratch resistance than the Ceramic Shield used on the iPhone 16 Pro.
Apple has also redesigned the Dynamic Island, allowing users to view up to three Live Activities simultaneously. This makes it easier to keep track of multiple updates without constantly switching between apps.
iPhone 18 Pro camera

Photography is one of the main areas where the iPhone 18 Pro receives a major upgrade. Apple has designed the new camera system with professional photographers, videographers and content creators in mind.
The headline addition is a variable aperture on the 48MP Fusion Main camera. This gives the camera greater control over how much light reaches the sensor, helping produce improved results in low-light conditions while maintaining greater detail across an image.
The camera setup consists of:
- 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture
- 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera
- 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera
Apple has also introduced expanded Pro Controls within the Camera app. Frequently used settings can be moved to a more accessible position, while users can manually adjust options such as aperture, shutter speed, white balance and histogram.
More Creative Photography Controls
The updated Photographic Styles give users greater control over the appearance of their images. In addition to adjusting colour and tone, photographers can now modify texture and grain to create different visual effects.
These adjustments can be used to produce anything from a softer portrait appearance to a more traditional film-inspired look. Changes can also be modified or reversed after they have been applied.
Apple Intelligence also brings several new editing capabilities. Spatial Reframing allows users to alter the composition of an image after taking it, while the Extend tool can expand the boundaries of a photograph. The improved Clean Up feature can also remove larger unwanted objects from images.
iPhone 18 Pro Battery Life

Battery performance has also received attention with the latest Pro models. The iPhone 18 Pro can reach a 50% charge in around 15 minutes, helping users quickly top up their device when time is limited.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max takes things even further. Apple says it can provide up to 7 hours of video playback from just 5 minutes of charging. The Pro Max also delivers up to 43 hours of video playback, representing an increase of six hours compared with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
With its larger battery capacity and improved efficiency, Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro can provide up to 29 hours of use on a single charge, giving users more time for streaming, gaming, browsing and other everyday activities.
iPhone 18 Pro Performance

Powering the iPhone 18 Pro is Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which the company describes as its most powerful and efficient iPhone chip design to date.
The chip uses packaging technology inspired by Apple’s M-series processors and works alongside a next-generation vapour chamber to improve heat management.
Apple claims the new setup can deliver up to 40% faster graphics performance compared with the iPhone 17 Pro. The A20 Pro also introduces a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, providing twice the compute capability for tasks that rely on on-device intelligence.
Faster Apple Intelligence
The additional processing power is particularly important for Apple’s growing range of AI features. The A20 Pro combines new Neural Accelerators with the Dual 16-core Neural Engine and 50% higher memory bandwidth, helping the iPhone handle Apple Intelligence features more efficiently.
Apple has also redesigned the way the chip and memory are packaged. By positioning the silicon die alongside the memory, the company says heat can move away from the chip more effectively, improving thermal performance during demanding workloads.
